BRIAR:
I WANT TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP. I'LL START STUDYING MY MAPS NOW. I STARTED GOING TO THIS AREA LAST JUNE. THE OLD STORE THAT YOU MENTIONED HAS BURNED DOWN. THE LOCAL CHAPTER GPAA, WHICH I JOINED, HAS A BOOTH AT THE GOLD FESTIVAL. I WORKED AT IT LAST YEAR. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HELPFUL, BUT I GUESS AS WITH ANY PROSPECTER, HUNTER, FISHERMAN, THE BETTER PLACES ARE KEPT SECRET AND I CAN'T BLAME THEM AT ALL. WITH THIS INFO I MAY HAVE MUCH BETTER LUCK THIS YEAR. THANKS GUYS.

Hi everyone, the Gold Festival is still held at Coker Creek each year on the property of Coker Creek Village. Their phone numbers are (423)-261-2310 and (423)-261-2664 they would be able to give you the dates. Also as mentioned there is a GPAA chapter at Coker Creek web site cokercreekgpaa.com lots of info there as well. Sadly Mr. Witt has passed he was a great wealth of information also Mr. Murphy passed last year while preparing for the festival. There is a welcome center on Hwy 68 at the old Murphy Garage location they did have the book GOLD DEPOSITS OF THE COKER CREEK DISTRICT, MONROE COUNTY,TENNESSEE in stock.
