TESORO SILVER UMAX ! after all the research its tesoro......because of quality, warranty, and reviews & tests it was the winner. as far as the fisher goes it was sad after first Texas bought them out .....fit example the fisher f4 is actually a bounty hunter 3300 in a different colored case so that's that we,ll be taking delivery of a silver umax after the first of the year........... Amen

Good choice. I just picked up a Silver Sabre umax last week. Unfortunately I ran across a Vaquero used this week for a really good price. So I gotta let go of the SS now. Done sent the money for V. I've played with the SS a couple of times and its a good machine. Was fixing to do the GB mod on it,got it just for that reason. I had one of the Silver Sabre back in the 80's, they were good then too.

Oh, I see you had a Jetco Mustang too. Good ol' BFO. I hauled mine all over on my bicycle when I was 12 or 13. Found alot of coins with it. JR

I see Silver Sabre.. Could that be related to the Golden Sabre? Does the Golden Sabre rank up there with the Silver UMAX? I seem to be obsessed with the Sabres.

Denizen, you can think of the Sabres as the predecessors of the modern Golden uMax (micromax) and Silver uMax(micromax).   The Golden is marketed as Tesoro's mid range coin machine while Silver is one of their mid range "All Terrain" (read all purpose) machines.   For more, see Tesoro's very informative home page at

.  It even includes a history of Tesoro that will answer a lot of the questions you have been asking.
