leave in fixed ground balance, set disk low, if using on Thames foreshore you just want to be knocking out small nails, so disc between 0 and 4, sensitivity as high as you can without it chattering.Its good on ancient Roman sites, so should be good on the foreshore.Sweep the coil slow and as low as possible and sort of, what l can winkling, sort of shuffle the on the coil on surface.l get through some coil covers, but to find the tiny stuff its the best method.I even use no discrim at all wherever possible and listen for the good 2-way positive signals to sound through the rubbish
