Hi,
just bought myself a Eldorado. 3 years old but in perfect condition.

I plan to do a couple of minor mods that i see geotech has for it.

Has anyone here ever owned one? How bad are they in mineralized ground?

I also own a couple of minelabs . sd2000 & 3500.

I am going to try to use this eldorado for small gold.

any thoughts from you guys would much appreciated.

cheers
Dave

Hello Dave . What size search coil are you using and what are the controls on the front panel to verify the model ? Then we can answer you with more accuracy and a much faster response time !!
Happy Hunting and Best Regards.......Eugene

Hello Dave . You made an Excellent Choice . I hope it is the Eldorado umax with built in mineral rejection , manual ground balance , and a 3 frequency toggle switch . The 9x8 search coil can easily find large coin size targets to 12 inches in highly mineralized soil . Smart choice !!! The Older Eldorado [Pre-umax] was a great machine also , and still excellent by today's standards .
HH .......Regards......Eugene

I know it sounds like a strange question... but every time I see an magnetic or electro-magnet field.. the diagrams alway show it as a sphere or circle...

yup..it will work ..the magnetic field will still be round..but also long. as long as the rectangle.
I just want to be able to slide it in,out & around crevices, rocks & so on .
should not be too hard to make. Wink
