Hey guys,
I recently bought a Tesoro Silver Umax, which will arrive in the next couple of days.
Have I done the right thing? What are you guys thoughts, tips and tricks with this detector.
Cheers,
Brendan

You can't go wrong with a Tesoro. As to the second question, the learning curve is short with this machine. You can turn it on and go while learning the refinements later. Easy.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

We have one, very easy to use. Set  between foil and nickel and at 9 or 10 and go hunt. All metal mode is not a true all metal mode. It's just discrimination mode dropped down further into iron that the control knob will allow at min disc. I like beach hunting in so called all-metal mode then flick the switch to see if it's junk. Raise the coil to pinpoint and sweep over the target, it will narrow a coin size object.

Good luck

Absolutely because this machine will detect 24kt gold flake with the stock coil,  for the money its the last detector you may ever buy,  just take time to learn from it ...
