Hello!  I have a small problem and was wondering if anyone can help.  My friend wants to purchase a tiger shark detector, but according to tesoro, they temporarily stoped making them about 8 months back...something to do with the company having problems acquiring a seal for the battery compartment. Anyway, tesoro says everyones sold out them right now.  I was just wondering if anyone on this forum, knew of any dealer that still has some of these sitting on their shelf.  Thanks for your help!  ~Chris

Tiger sharks are not made of metal so detecting them is a problem for biologists.

Oh, sorry. You meant the detector. Yes, they have suspended sales until they can redesign the case. Makes sense since Tesoro has a lifetime warranty on their products. There's nothing that proves a design flaw better than a high return rate on a unit. I predict a comeback soon.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hey Chris, Tesoro's web site says the will start selling them again in april they finally fixed the connector problem. So if you can wait 2 months they will have them. I found mine at Clevengers Detector sales, He still might have one.

Tesoro says they will have hardwired coils that are not interchangeable. So you have to pick one or the other, 8.5"or10.5"I think.

The Tesoro Tiger Shark will be available in Mid April of 2011. It thrills me to see that the two water machines made by tesoro are back in production. Stores on the net are taking orders at this very moment for mid April deliveries. Can't wait. You can't beat the price and warranty.  Police

detector, just what are it's strong points and any weak points besides the obvious gasket/connector issues.

How good are they in the surf & on the beach?

Thanks,
Jim
