Tim, I am going to make a huge leap here and ask if you have checked your battery. Tesoro detectors have a constant tone when the battery gets too weak to work any longer.

You know what I did check it, with a battery I had at the house, not pran spanking new tho. Oh crap I will get a new one and check it before I send it. I thought it would just stop working when the batt. was low.
Thanks
Tim

Make sure it's a fresh alkaline battery. When the battery gets weak, the signal stays constant. When it gets REALLY weak, it makes a very short, fading beep. It might save your detector one round trip to the factory.

Just went out and got a new one, still a constant tone tho.
I was wishing you were correct.
Thanks again.

Bummer. Did you check all connectors? A loose coil connector might do that.

Make sure the battery you checked it with was a good quality battery too (Something like a DURACEL), cheap ones sometimes just don?t cut it !!  Cool

how many time's does it beep when you turn it on ,,10 beeps is full strength and 5 is about time to think about a new battery and 3 beep's you hope you have a spare while hunting ,,,If it is just a buzz  when you power up it up ,,good idea to send it in that's what a lifetime warranty is for goodluck

When I turned it on I got six beeps, did buy a energizer dated for 2012 when I tried that one got 8 or  more. Checked all of the conections. Just seems wierd, I was doing really good then all the sudden it started going like the pinpiont was stuck but a lower pitch. And I did push the pin piont butt just to check if it was stuck thats when  I realized the different pitch. Never been dropped never hit water. Undecided
But thanks for all the feed back.
Tim
