| I am thinking i would like to upgrade from the Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 to a Tesoro. I want one i can use mainly for detecting for coins and jewelry inland with maybe some looking for gold nuggets, as well as an occasional trip to the coast to beach detect here in Oregon. Would the Vaquero be a good choice for this type of use? Or should i just stick with the Bounty Hunter for this type detecting? Thanks for any advice.

Hay Rebel,
There are some variables here.
As far as coins go, the discovery
can probably do as well as a
Vaquero. The V has a little more
depth. Lot of people may not
agree, but that is my opinion.
But on jewelry, it is tha Vaquero
hands down. The depth can be
amazing on small peices of gold
jewelry.
The Vaquero will find small gold
nuggets better than the Discovery.
I believe a lot of that may be the
difference in operating frequency.
But it has to do with circuitry also.
For all around detectors, the
discontinued Eldorado is better
for prospecting than the V.
Not many VLF detectors do real
well in wet salt sand. That
includes the Vaquero.
I honestly do not know if the V is
better on wet salt beaches than
the Discovery. I do not have any
salt beaches in Arkie Land.
Happy Huntin,
Tabdog
