I have been a big fan of Tesoro. They are light and comfortable to use. They are pretty dang good in trashy ground-I've ferreted out plenty of neat finds over the years with Tesoro units in ground other machines would have a problem with. I've owned a Compadre, The Toltec 2,The Golden Umax, the Silver Umax, The Conquistadore, and The Cibola. I've also used a friend's older first generation Silver Sabre and another friend's gold hunting detector made by Tesoro-can't recall its name, though. I'd enjoy hearing about folk's Tesoro or Shadow finds or what they think about these units. I've always liked the set ground bal types--not fond of manual tune type.

There are a good many of us who love the Tesoro detectors. TabDog got me hooked.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Have you tried a shadow-which was made by Tesoro for another company? Some folks swear these are really good coin and relic machines in trashy areas...

The only Tesoro I have tried is my Compadre, which I really like using.
