Thanks Xavier

Just looked into the soundcard bit. It mentioned something that i might need to protect the sound card from any voltages above 1.7 volt. Since this will be my first try i dont want to damage any thing. Does it use the line in on the soundcard or the mic input. I have seen that you can make your own probes as well.

Hope you can give me any advice

Thanks

I would suggest that you get the doc for that card but mine is on the mike input. you can protect your card with a 15M resistor in series with your probe this will not reduce the voltage but will protect your card from damage. There are a lot of do it your self probe designs on the net just find one that you can put together with the stuff that you have in your junk box.

All the best
Xavier

Thanks Xavier

Will give it a try later and see what its like. Ive got enough junk to make something for it. If it save me some money I'm happy.
