I was doing some reading, catching up on technical bulletins actually, when I stumbled across this article that might be of interest to the DIY types. Particularly Xavier, who has one of the most inquisitive minds I have even known.

The article describes a new camera that can see magnetic fields in real time. Imagine being able to see your coil develop its field and then watch what happens to the field as you put a ring, coin, nail or paperclip in the field of detection. Imagine watching the eddy currents and seeing what we only truly guess at in theoretical models. What a tremendous asset this would be for designers.

I want one. Anyone who wants to send me an early birthday present, PM me. I'll love you forever. I promise.

It won't be long before the hobby DIY types figure out a way to convert a digital camera. The geeks are never far behind.

Shocked never seen that before, I use to use ferrite dust to try and look at the magnetic fields, it works some what.

Grin Grin The short memory is quite understandable, I think I'd suffer from it too in this type of scenario. Any idea what these cameras can go for?
