Go Up Go Down

Needed a Distraction for Winter Time.

Purchased a couple Arduino UNO 3 and a Wopping 16 X2 LCD board to play with.  Oh and two Nano's as well Just in case I actually find something to do with them.   What am I going to do with them Ya Say ?   NO Flipping Clue !

Purchased a  DSO138 O-Scope based on the Atmel Processor.  A Transistor/Inductance/Resistor/Freq Counter/ Tester based on the Atmel too.  Found it interesting how versatile the things can be.

Plenty of Libraries of Programs Errrrr Sketches with a millions or so applications at hand.  Most Free-ware stuff.   Arduion tutorials up the Wazoo.   Never done any Real Programing before.  Played with Basic for a while so at least I have a Idea on how stuff works .  I already have a list of Brains to Pick.  LOL  Soooo  If you see me Walking the Halls all Perplexed looking you know what's going on.

I just found Two Brand Spanking New Densitron 16 x 2 LCD displays in my Some  Day  Box  of  Tricks.  They will work with the Arduino but need a DC/DC Converter 5Vdc to 400Vdc to get the dang Back light to work.  WHo would ever put a CFL back light in a LCD ?  Densitron Of Course.   &?!$####

Do a Google search and a YouTube search on Arduino projects. Also go to that Instructibles site and search there. You're going to be overwhelmed with ideas.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Already been pinging all those.  Have my drivers all loaded.  IDE, and even a few basic sketches  ready to play.  USB to TTL converter at hand.  LOL  Just waiting for the Mail Man.

Scheduled delivery Tuesday or So.

Some of them are way out there and some are funny (like a fart detector that sends a tweet to Twitter on the internet!!). Check it out. Nothing technical just what is is and what you can do.

Go Up Go Down

Well the Goodies showed up from China.  Pleasant Supersize.  The Arduino Uno's are  Original Arduino.  Including Gold Plated Component and Silk Screens.

Well took me 5 minutes to down load Arduino Sketch (Program) Compiler.  Had the Little Blinking LED doing it's thing.  Added a few lines (COPIED) and changed I/O numbers,   added two pull downs and Transistors.  More Blinking LED's.   Turned to motors on and off.  Emmmm   .    Gotta learn some more commands, Pronto.

Limitations on Analog sampling may not  do so well sampling for a PI Detector.  100uS .   Going to see if I can get something out of it anyways.

Next Tayda order is going to include a Micro SD card reader for a Data Logger.  Big BUCKS ! $1.50 or so.

Guess old dogs can learn new tricks.
