Go Up Go Down

there are probly three main types of missing people,
1: people that get lost expire, fall down old mine shafts ect.
2: people that want to go missing, for all sorts of reasons!
3: people that go missing against their will.

: A few things are for sure, the gold that the people found came from somewhere! Their modes of transportation where crude by today's standards, and they had to carry all of the supplies with them. Knowing human greed it seems that if they could have stayed at their source of gold longer, they would have. Taking just those facts in hand, the gold most likely came from somewhere close to where they first spent some of their prize. Golddigger

There are several groups actively looking for the LD  and they can be broke down into 2 groups the ones who have been at it awhile and play it close to the vest letting out little info on what they are up to. And the others who head off into the  Superstition unprepared and get lost or dead.

Don't forget the 3rd group that are convinced they can locate it based on the so-called Peralta stones, photographs, and maps.   Some of those don't even think they need to go out to the Superstitions to locate the supposed mine.

The Lost Dutchman wasn't, He knew where he was the whole time. Fables and fantasy are always good for tourism and lureing fols to visit a god forsaken oven in the desert.
