There's a lot of stuff that happens out there - much of which - we don't hear about, unless you are specifically tuned in to getting the info.

However, sometimes, it all turns out good........

OMG. Killer Bunnies!     And here I was worried about the Wet Backs , Drug Runners and Cartel folks taking my goodies.

Never would have thought about that one.

Don't forget the Turkey Hunters!

GETTING shot in the field is my single greatest fear. Not by an irate land owner or by a moonshiner or by a drug grower, but by someone in the woods with a gun just shooting. I have to have a real good reason to go into a place where the visibility around me is less that several hundred feet. Bullets travel a lot further than that but keeping an open space around you cuts down on the chances of being mistaken for wildlife.... By the way, A single bird shot pellet will kill you if it hits the right place.

In December I was geo-cache hunting with RogerC42 and we came across a nest of yellow jackets in the high palmettos. We beat it out of there but the yellow jackets chased us all the way back to the car. I had a tube of lanocain in my first aid kit which came in handy as RogerC42 had multiple stings. Ouch!!!gambol

Why heck!   We should out law guns like they did in the UK and that way all you have to worry about is being shot by the folks that don't stick with the laws.

The folks that know the law following folks are disarmed.

The ones that Sue you if you shoot them when they enter your home with a club or gun in the wee hours.

LOL!    Come on my property, after my dogs half eat ya, I'm going to shoot you You DEAD, DEAD  so you can't take me to court.

Homie Don't Play That Game!

It's a good thing nobody takes this quote from context, eh?

Oops. I just did.

Home invations are a thing here.

People are ready for it.

Even the LEO yeall who they are at least three times before knocking on your door.

People have had enough .

We have some Bad, Bad folks around here.    You don't play games with stuff like that here.

Out hunting your armed and if smart have a dog with you too.

People have gone Plane Evil at times.

Back in the old days , most people you meet camping out was good folks.

You just don't know any more.

Out here in the mountain or Oregon you have to watch where you go because of the pot growers, they are heavily armed. I usually stay close around to areas that are claims that way I know there are more people  mining and not growing. Some places I go are on top of mountains and work the small streams and waterfall areas where no one else is and I can hear ans see for a long ways. When metal detecting I usually use headphones with one ear open the the air so I can hear everything else going on around me. Paranoid?  Only when in strange places by myself and no one else around for miles.  Ya"ll keep digging we will find something I know it is somewhere out there!!

Digger u are correct in my area pot is the number cash crop and lots of folks around here still make shine, so not only do u have to avoid illegal pot growers but the moon shiners also. and don't forget the rattle snakes. Heck just down the road from where Ray and I both live a moonshiner just went legal and got a license to make shine legally and is even advertising his still as a tourist site
