Go Up Go Down

Been out of town on work for a few days and started thinkin g about updating my detecting "survival" kit.

What do you all include in yours?

Mine has...

Extra headphones
Batteries and packs
Extra digger and probe
First-aid kit
Electrical tape
Duct tape
Zip ties
Several screw drivers
Robogrip
Baggies
Maps
Disposable camera
Field glasses
Film canisters
Leatherman tool
Asprin
Velcro strips
Moist hand wipes
Purell

Theres more and I will update the list when I open the box to re-build it all.

Some of these things come in handy when hunting buddies forget or break something.

Raider.

Hi Randy!

I'd say that is just about an as complete kit as they can get. Two things that have proved usefull to me in the past are a set of gloves (sometimes finds are sharped edged) and a small saw. I sue the saw when I start digging and roots get in my way. Of course one has to be carefull with it not to damage the tree but espeically old items will often be buried below a tree's roots when hunting in a forest.

Regards,

Christian

Thats a great article. Yes, the saw and the gloves are very welcome in any detecting kit.

As far as the saw goes I can recommend using one of these "wire-saws". It  is great as it is leightw eight, will fold down to fit in your pocket and most important you can also use it in small places e.g. in a digging hole to get rid of some roots.
