Some of the things you may want to check and post back on. It may help someone figure it out. When you say changes position are you talking a few inches or feet? Do you get any readings when holding the metal detector in the air? What metal detector are you using? What sensitivity settings or other settings are you using? Is it in pin point mode if your detector has it?

There is a possibility of electrical interference. Is there any over head or underground power lines.  Radio antennas?

My Englishis poor, so I apologize for that.
First, there is nothing in the ground of instalation. That is backyard of a very old house.
It is strange that I faund many ceramic tubes (about 10-20 cm wide) so far. Some of them was horizontal posicion, some in vertical.

Equipment: Nokta Engineering - Golden King Plus
It detect signal on two places. Distance between places is about 5 meters. On first place it detect compact signal (very strong) of "gold in cavity" about 95 cm from surface. On the other place another strong signal of noble metal. (40 cm deep and form of cube).

Sorry, I don't know what is pin point mode. The equipment is not mine I tried with several diferent detectors and every detector detect strong signal but no one located the place... Sad

When I say "changes position" I'm talking about feet, even meters. Changes it's happening in minutes. Now is here, before one hour was there...

Please get a copy of the Nokta user manual and READ it at least twice.

You say you have dug a hole, so I assume the target's signal is coming from inside that hole. I use the older Golden King model, and believe the same basic principles should apply to your newer model.

Pay special attention to the part which tells you to perform ground balancing again after digging the hole. The ground balancing must be performed in the hole and far away as possible from the spot where the target was first detected. This is very important to avoid getting false and erratic signals.

If you do not have the user manual, download a copy at

I did a Google search and found:

It looks like a fairly sophisticated metal detector with quite a search range and 3D capabilities.

Wonder what kind of beta testing (trials) they have done with it or is it the type that the customers purchase to find faults and report back to the company that makes it!!

My suggestion after having read the manual, which I see Hobbyist has suggested, is to call or email the company...

Good Luck and HH
