Software for your laptop that turns it into a long range locator for gold, oil, you name it . . .

Requires Windows. Intel and Bill Gates must have known something I don't know.

What a Hoot!   It sound like some Geo Logging Program?

This program is free and has more potential.

My goodness but that looks interesting! Thanks for the link!

Did you see the links below it? A PIC based Spectrum Analyzer in the audio frequencies! Perfect for design of these special machines that find metals.

I down loaded it about a year ago to use as a Audio sound source.

Works for me.

The O-Scope works Ok for Audio signals.

I use a old Tape recorder to Isolate the Audio from Test object to the Microphone jack on computer.

That way if I mess up, I don't fry my sound card in the lap top!   It adds a bit of noise but you can still see whats going on.   Best bet would be to build a Opto Isolator.

Using  Driver circuit from the Ear Phone jack you could use your lap top as a timing source to drive a signal.

I long ago built a "break out box" to connect my sound card input/output to the easier access of my bench top. My engineering computer is not the same as my day to day machine. All of my inputs are transformer isolated and level shifted for line-in.

I like the small unit on the first link because it can be battery powered. I can use it in the field! I will be making one right away.

They are not cheap in Australia, either. Yikes! I always order two in case I make toast from one in the process of building.

I used this... I found gold... all you need is the software and and ebay account... sell the software and people give you gold. It works. However, this year I am going to just apply the principle and use the software to lead me gold in grants. I am sure the government will allow me to research this device with a fat grant.
