Go Up Go Down

Today a friend of mine, who is thinking about getting a MD, and I will be going out.  I thought we would try the Tot Lots here in Gainesville.  My question is... should I start with all metal, or just use auto notch?  I have a Pioneer 505 and he will be using my old Radio Shack MD.  We are having a little cool wave here, the temp is 45" now, and will only be going up to about the 60's today.  I have been reading the posts and it is my understanding that the weather does make a difference  in the tones.  We also had major rain on Friday.

We are lucky here that the Tot Lots are still just sand and chips, not too many ground tires yet.

Any added advice would be appreciated!

Everyone have a great day!

Sharen

Sharen, my advice would be the same whether you hunt beaches or sand lots. Use the all metal mode everywhere and dig every target. Every now and again, a target that would have notched out turns up in your sifter as a gold ring or a gold chain. They just haven't made the perfect discrimination circuit yet.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Well I did just that and I found quite a few coins in a vacant lot.  One of them is a silver!!!  I thank everyone here for the advice.  I will hopefully get the camera up and running to post my "new finds today"!

Have a great day!

Sharen
