Hi
In trying to work out the best coin and treasure dectector .   because there are so many brands and models available its very confusing .
What is the most sought after model and brand that people prefer?  Price is not a inhibiting factor in my case I just want the best detector for the job and the most prefered coil .

Hi,
Go with a Minelab! .... they are Australian after all!
The new Etrac is stunning.
I have an Explorer II which will find things at amazing depths.
There is even a guy in Oz who does modifications for minelab machines that give them even greater performance.
If i were to choose it would be the Etrac with the new SEF 8x10 coil.
Iv'e heard (and seen) some amazing recoveries with this combo.

I can confirm that, after having been found with various brands and models over the years, the FBS and BBS detectors have the very welcome capacity to find targets other detectors missed. Still using other brands for specific tasks, I can verify this statement finding coins in my own footsteps with the Minelab.

If these detectors do not appeal to you should choose a detector that has the capacities (e.g.frequency and other characteristics) to signal the targets you want to find at the very places you want to find them.

Yes, the Minelab eTrac is very good. The new White's Vision might however als be a serious contender!

Regards,

Christian

Thanks Fellas
After listening to lots of opinions and doing a far bit of research Im going for an Etrac to add to my collection .   Its always hard to believe in all the blurp the manufacturers put out on how good their product is because after all they are in the business of selling. The best way is to talk to people who own one or have had some knowledge of the product first hand .

Minelab, for sure! Either the SE Pro or Etrac; My choice is the SE because of the Etrac's deficiencies in the 'ferrous' dept.. I've ordered a 6X8 SEF for separation in high trash but my go-to right now is the 10X12 SEF; deep, great separation and seems to false less than the 'Pro' coil.
