Places to hide Cash

Just found this article on Yahoo,  thought it might be some interesting reading to folks who don't limit themselves to dirt fishing.  It is some interesting read.  If they explain how to hide it, it sure helps us who want to find it!

That is true to some point but you have to remember that the era that we are interested in did not have fish tanks, on the other hand they did have wells and used them to hide valuables, some even led to secret tunnels.

Absolutely agree with you Xavier,  but I thought it interesting for the simple reason it gets the mind thinking of creative places to hide old cash.  When folks get permissions to hunt old property or old houses, this could help a person begin to think creatively.  But for sure the times have changed!

Under floor boards in a privy or closet, pantry, or outhouse were sometimes used. Properties that were abandoned back in 20's thru late 30's may not have any cash stored any more because of the bad economy back then. Out here in the southwest USA, many men who were desperate for money back during that time took to gold panning in the hills. They were everywhere and it was unsafe to go into the hills without a gun. It is entirely possible that some of these miners may have stashed gold nuggets and gold dust somewhere on there claims or near their shack. Thanks for the post. Just hope some modern day crooks are not reading it.

  Yep I've never found anything of significant at old houses from the 20 or 30's other then the odd penny or dime.   My guess is they Just didn't have it.
