Everyone knows that in order to find something with your detector you have to be where somone has lost something at some point in time.  The more people the better your odds of finding something.  The older the area the better the odds are of finding something old.  Very simple eqation that we all know which is why research is so key.

I stumbled across this link today and thought that some of our members might find it useful.  It looks like it has been awhile since any sort of update but the information could still prove useful to some hopefully.  This site is dedicated to defunct amusement parks some still operating under a different name and the site even has an index listing them state by state.

I have been to some of the parks listed here in fort Erie, but some of these parks are of limits to the detectorist such has Dundurn castle and the niagra escartment,I believe any park located in Canada deemed a historical site is off limits. Thanks for the link lots of intresting sites

Thanks Doc.

As Outback stated some parks may be off limits to detectors so that something people would have to check into some may not be off limits though.  Either way though it still chalks up to interesting information.  Thought someone might find it useful.

Even though detecting some areas is a no no,They are still great spots to explore without a detector Grin

Absolutely.  Kind of like visiting a piece of history in a sense.

how about where your local carnival or fair has held? We used to have a carnival every summer at the city park, and one at the church in the parking lot (unpaved) - with those rides that went upside down
