Hi Tyler,
Your local library or museum might be a good place to start.
What you are looking for are where the local "garbage" was disposed of 50 -100 years back.
They may have old maps showing such areas.

Good Luck!

If I was you I would get old maps of Grayson county and look for old RR stops home sites ghost towns etc. Bottle digging was a big thing back in the 70's and lots of money was made. I know few people who still dig just bottles but there is still a small but good market for them. I do not think that there is still a magazine for bottles but back then there was 3 or 4. As for dating all I can say date the bottles to date the dump. Get a couple of good price guides they will help with dating. When I go back down stairs to my office I will get the names of the ones I use and post them for you. Remember value guides are just that guides it is hard to sale for the price they say. I have several bottles at my wife's resale shop for sale that the books value at 15 or 20 bucks each I got them priced at 5 or 6 bucks each and still own them. Research is the key in bottle hunting selling like in all treasure hunting.I wish you good luck and if I can be of help let me know.

Seldom
