That is a good selection of hints!

I would agree to all of them  Smiley

Re-scaning a hole makes a lot of sense unless you are on a field. I say that because it is often a pitty to find a damaged item like a necklace or ring and chances of finding the missing part are unfortunately pretty low then. But it is true that otherwise it makes a lot of sense. I've had cases, too where I would find the missing part in the same hole.

Thanks for reminding us of all these hints!

I must also agree with all of the above.  I have found many additional items be scanning my hole again before filling it in and moving on.  They were all very good pieces of advice.  I thought the one about THunting was a neat addition. Cheesy

It is good advice.  There have been many nice items that I wouldn't have found if I hadn't been digging everything at those times.

Go Up Go Down

I had a similar incident at a ballfield a couple of years ago where I got a signal and dug down to get my target which turned out to be a crushed pop can.  Scanned my hole before i filled it in and there was another signal.  Retrieved a quarter scanned the hole again and got another signal, looked into the hole again and wound up pulling a total of $2.00 worth of quarters out of the hole before I filled it in and continued my search.
