Great post! Also if I get a very low sound or sound but no reading, I go around the spot and sweep again from the other side, and most times I get a better reading and a coin....

All of the above was my answer.  But of the listed choices, the one single most important one I ever learned was, "Always recheck the recovery hole."  Many, many times it has paid off!    Detecting
