Personally, the best tip i think is to bring an insect repellant. I got stung by a few mosquitoes the other day while out hunting a public park for just a couple of hours. Quite troublesome. Shocked

I could deny that.  A detectorists is the bugs natural predator.  Good program on Discovery Channel, don't miss it.

You mean prey, right? How many skeeters do you swat before you reach for the repellent? Here, we have to deal with flies in summer. Ungodly amounts of flies.

Hm.  But one or two? I don't use repellent, never had to.  They just seem to ignore me, true story.  People around me will say"Man, I am getting ate up with skeeters".  Then ask me, and I say no.

Interesting.  We have to deal with Buffalo Gnats, swarming in your face and biting you.  Thank the Lord they weren't around this year.

As for a tip.  Dig all Pull tabs.

At what depth do you consider when you decide to dig a pulltab? got a 5 inch deep signal onetime, my detector says its a pulltab and indeed it was. usually i dont dig the ones at the surface...

Hello Everyone .The best Tips are 1. Sweep your coil slowly  2. Dig up all Pull Tabs  3. Get a can of "Mace Muzzle Dog Repellant" .EPA approved and it will not kill or permanently injure the Pit-Bull you love so much !!!

HH........ Great........Eugene
