I have found some buttons almost like those on private property here in North Florida. I grew up though, in a very old town called Vernon in Southern Indiana. It's about 25 miles south and east of Columbu, Indiana. That would be a very good old town to poke around because Morgan's Raiders were stopped on their advance just south of there, forcing him to high tail it toward Ohio. There are also a ton of old buildings in Vernon. I don't know how far it is from Dexter though. If you're close enough, you might try it.

Thanks for the info, I havent really done the traveling detecting yet, at least to far, I'm not sure were Vernon is, I heard of Mt. Vernon if thats were your talking about, its about a hour 30-45 min. away. I live in Tell City, In. Its in between two old towns, Cannelton and Troy, Troy is the second oldest town in Indiana next to Vincennes which is the first oldest town. I have a lot of places I want to detect around here, its just haveing the gahones to go ask some of these people.

Vernon,  Indiana is a smaller town right beside North Vernon, Indiana. The towns are located approximately 55 miles northwest of Louisville, Kentucky so they are probably about 90-100 miles from you. I know what you mean about asking permission to hunt. It's like cold calling in a sales job. I have found that about 85 percent of the people are receptive to letting you hunt, it's just the other 15 percent you worry about. Good Luck!

Awesome finds! Losing a dime back than would have been devastating. Now a days we probably wouldn't even bend over to pick one up.  Crazy to think about!
