A stamp seal was a very personal property which the owner was appropriate
contracts, letters, etc. to "seal". On the death of the owner, the seal
usually immediately chopped in half to prevent abuse. Seals were then usually
discarded, such as waste, in a (bear) in a pit or ditch. Stamps (and later
signet rings) were used by both clergy and ordinary citizens, although they - especially
In the Middle Ages - have some explanatory power and capital had such a seal
use (and the knowledge of reading and writing). Seals are usually of Temples
base metal such as bronze and copper, precious metal used was exceptionally high.

As you can see this stamp stamp remained exceptionally well, despite more than 250 years have been lying in the ground.
Unfortunately the stamping surface is missing and is able to sabotage / removed to prevent abuse.

Erik,  I'm still getting caught up from my holiday, so I apologize for being late with this.  Your seal stamp is quite impressive.   Thanks for also providing the explanation of its use for members who might not have known how they were used.
