Go Up Go Down

I had a couple of hours to burn today so I went to a park near my house. This park is located on a lake and I didnt think it was very old so I didnt expect to find any old coins. I put my big coil back on my E-trac so I could cover some ground fast. It is just like every other Texas park by the lake full of tabs and screw caps. I was sweeping fast and and skipping deep targets and for sure zinc pennies when I got a funny high pitch tone 12/44 so I dug it and it was a 56 wheaty. Shocked It was only down about 2 inches. Then in another 20 feet I got the same sound again and I got another wheaty it was a 57. Great I didnt get any silver today but I am going back and I am going to work this park over slow. I did get one small ring and a $1.68 in change and a childs fork.

Hellow Tim

The city I live in has 22 of these small parks most about an acre or so. I never expected to find the wheat pennies.
I dont think the park has been hunted before because there are so many good targets in the ground. The ground only has a few inches of dirt ontop of solid granite bedrock. If it wasnt raining today I would be back out there going low and slow trying to scrub out some more wheaties or maybe some silver.

Thanks
Todd

That fork looks mighty interesting.  Nice little ring as well.  Like said before you, work up that park nice and easy like.  You'll be finding more goodies!! Wink
