Well, I had a chance to hit my site again this afternoon and found my 3rd Seated Liberty Half dime of the year! It's an 1857 in decent shape.
I'm heading back tomorrow morning with high hopes.
I have never found a Seated dime before this year and only have two other Seated Half dimes from the last 35+ years so I am definitely holding my mouth right! Funny
I also found an arrowhead and some other stuff. Nothing special.

Thats awesome! I love to think about the history behind the coin, what was happening in the U.S. that year? The country was becoming embroiled in the debate over state rights that would culminate in April 1861 with the first shots fired in what would become the Civil war, the country divided, brother against brother. It changed the course of this country and the world as we know it.

Man those are great finds! I like the arrowhead alot, those are so much older than those "old" coins. Looks like that coin was immersed in something that partially corroded it while part of it was not bothered by it. Interesting...

Boy, am I dumb!    I showed my Seated Liberty dimes to a friend and he told I only had two! When I looked at them again I saw that one was not a Seated. It is a capped bust from 1829. I reckon I need some thicker glasses!  Embarrassed
