Go Up Go Down

It was with some interpretation that I headed out today.  Windy, cloudy and just generally a day made for flushing down the loo.  Nogo purred.  Hit a pitch that was reminiscent of a Scottish bog that was frequented by wild mobile manure makers who I say really piled it on.

Hit 44 with Quota Guru#2 merrily having a go at it.  It began to chatter signifying that the batteries had run out of juice as had I.  Dam it  I said.  Dam.  headed back to Nogo for a fresh set of 9 volts, opened the boot, went into my digging bag.  Looked at the new batteries and repeated;  "Dam it."  It was at that very moment that I thought I had looked into the eyes of Medusa.

Avastating.  Failure.  Kaput.  Take was 44 @ $5.91 which more than payed for the petrol.
Anyway made it home 6 short of quota.  To a man it would damage his ego to hear that but to a digaholic it was devastating!

Hello Bluenoser .

I think you did pretty good, because you never know what is in that pile of coins untill you check them all out.
I'm happy you still are out Metal Detecting and posting on this Forum. I'm trying to remember what machine you are using, sounds like its powerful and goes through the batteries. Too bad you don't have rechargeable's with some backup packs.
Thank-you for posting.

Best Regards..............Eugene

ALWAYS take more batteries than you think you'll need.  I check my batteries before every outing....and then I check to make sure that we have spares for both of the detectors I am packing, my wife's detector, and both our pinpointers.  Then I toss in a few more AA and 9 volt batteries if we're going on a club trip just in case someone forgot the Scout motto.

Bluenoser, whether you make quota or not, you are always an inspiration to the rest of us.

BA
