Hello all,

Made it out this weekend with my son for a detecting trip.  here is what we managed to dig up.  It was extremely hot where we hunted so we cut our trip short by a day.  We took four gallons of water with us not to mention the power drinks, sodas and small bottled waters!  Wow was it hot!  We also had a visitor who was curious about what we were doing.    Good hunting all!!

Them look like neat little finds.  Saw a few coin shaped items, but I doubt they were coins.

Good huntin'!!

The circular hook object caught my eye. Any thoughts as to what it might be?

That object that says Daisy on it could be old. If it's related to Daisy firearms it could go back to the 1800's  Smiley

Metal inspector, thanks!  No coins in this batch.

Capnrich, Thanks!  Even though it was hot I am ready to head out again this weekend for another!

Farmdigger,  Not sure what the hook thing is.  Maybe from an old wagon?  An old fort from the early 1800s is in the area not to far away. Daisy firearms was our first thought as well.  Very possible.

Rob, Thanks!  Yeah funny thing is as we were driving away the clouds set in!  We were sun beat though and headed home with the air conditioner blasting the whole time!

 Thanks all!            Ironman

Cool stuff!

The lizard is a Collard Lizard.    They look like  a little T-Rex.

They run on the hind legs too!

Eat other lizards.

Bite Like hell.

I had one for a pet for a while.

Homefire,   The lizard was the first we saw like that one my whole years combined hunting out in the field!  Yeah it does resemble a T-Rex  and it did run on its hind legs.  It kept opening its mouth when we got to close to it, it looked pissed off!   I told my son we should take it back to the casa for a pet.  The grand kids woulda loved it...except for the bite!     Where are you from, AZ?

Thanks for the information!!                 Ironman  P.S. any meteorites lately?

Im in New Mexico now but Yes I was in Tucson at the time.

Best way to catch one is with a fishing pole.

Tie about 10" of 6lb line on the end and make a slip knot on the end.

They will let you get 6-10 feet away before they scamper.

Just place the noose over the head and lift them up!   Great

They do not like being handled but will take food from your fingers.  Wise

They will breed in captivity.
