Go Up Go Down

The weather was great for 3 February, 41F/5C.  Had dried off enough to hunt a plowed field, mud was not bad.  Detected this field for about 3.5 hours this afternoon, there are two beer cellars to the left and right of the upper road.  Hitler stood on the left cellar for a parade here, have found a few Nazi pendants around this area.
{alt}
Five buttons I found.
{alt}
Not sure what the first two pieces are but, the upper piece has a silver plating and the lower piece has a gold plating mostly around the inner circle.  And two buckles.
{alt}
The lead finds.  Five musket balls, a fired and flattened lead bullet and two lead bail seals, the seal on the right is from a salt bag.
{alt}
Harness pieces, lower right is a piece of heal plate.
{alt}
An intact bell missing the clacker, hard to find an intact bell on a plowed farm field and was a surprise.  A partial pipe, made of porcelain, surely of the last generation of this style.  I hope to find an intact clay pipe some day.
{alt}
I pictured all these together as I think it was a Rosary Necklace and found close together.   I have had a few conversations with my Archaeologist friend about all the glass beads I have found.  We think they are mostly Rosary beads as this area is predominately Catholic.  They can still be 200-300 years old but not Celtic or Medieval.
{alt}
Three copper coins in poor condition.  This is the best side of them.  Left is an 1839 or 1859, middle is a Heller no date and probably around the mid to early 1800s and right could be a late 1700 coin, it is paper thin.  I had a nice relaxing hunt today.  HH, Mike

Nice finds Bavaria Mike. Looks like a great spot for poking around. When I see current pics of the old-country I am surprised of all the wide open spaces. For some reason my conception is of a place so old that everything is lot-to-lot. Well, maybe it is if you dig deep enough? Beautiful countryside. Smiley
