Tesoro DeLeon Whites MXT with a Sunray prob

Sometimes we think that value is selected just for rings, coins and other relics.

I dug this from the garden of 1950's house last evening. The owner, was in her 80's (or so I was told) and had recenty moved into a nursing home. A friend of mine had bought her house and of course after wetting his lips with a couple of glasses of Brandy, he told me I could have a swing on his small lot. Now I just happened to have the MXT in the car. (just by chance of course.. hee hee)

I found many 1960 and 1970's coins and then out popped this little beauty. It is a Lesney Matchbox No. 29 Bedford from around the early 1960's. The inside was packed with dirt, but after a few hours soaking in hot water followed by a long bath in WD40, it came out looking mighty good. I am that sure that I can get the wheels spinning again.

The little tyke that lost this, must now be in his 50's.

What a story hidden treasures can tell. Tales of new and lost love. (people and toys)

Each one offering us a time capsule of time, hidden from the present, until our detector hits the signal.

I am showing a like new model found on the web.

I took the matchbox find into a collector this morning. He offered me the price of two tanks of gasoline for the car if I sold it to him. Now that is better value than a recent silver ring I found.

I smiled at him, thanked him for his trouble and tucked the gem into my pocket.

Some finds, like life, are to valuable to part with.

Hello Mike . Maybe you can go back and search more surrounding areas of the property and find more match box cars . If there is not a fence then see if you can check the Neighbors houses , that is if there are other properties around ? Also If a property is built in the 50's then finding lost coins from the 30's and 40's is very possible . If I hunt at a house that is built around 1900 , I think coins in the late 1800's must be somewhere nearby . Nice story you posted !!!

I recently found a toy car and tossed it in my change can ,,,Went to open it the next day it was crawling with fire ant's ,,,Lesson learned Embarrassed
