I just signed up for a YouTube account today and I uploaded two videos. Here are the links if anyone is still interested.

Please pardon any mistakes in the video as these are all firsts for me. YouTube, taking videos with a cellphone. Not just a cellphone, but a new Android smartphone. Old phone was a "DumbPhone" with just voice and a camera that you had to upload to Sprint for a fee to get them out of the phone and there was no internet on the phone. Useless.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Xavier, I wanted to give both of you a best answer, but it would only let me give one, I see now that is a Hem Weight for dresses. I mistook your Hemp weight answer for something else. I had never heard of hem weights before, but I am sure the gals could use them over here in the windy city of Chicago or Albuquerque, New Mexico. Do they still use them anymore? What era do you think they are from?
Many thanks again. I learned something new.

Carl

Carl Hem Weights were/are used in Heavy Fabric Curtains and were mainly round and Flat, My Ex use to Make Curtains for those folks who wanted that something special,

Thanks guys for all your help in this matter. I will save this in my treasure trove of "Thingies". Maybe someday lead will shoot to $1500 an ounce. Idiot

Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of England, still uses hem weights in some of her dresses for modesty reasons.  Wink
