Go Up Go Down

I took to a nearby beach access after work today to get a bit more practice with my new AT Gold.  I'm getting pretty good now at guessing what I'm about to dig.  This one really screamed at me in the high 80's.  I was a bit surprised to find it in this park, as there is lots of evidence of other hunters all over. As often happens I found her on my way back to the gate, as I was leaving. Its a 1943 Mercury Dime. Kind of a rare find up here in Canada.

If I'm not mistaken, that's even more rare than you think. The number 4 is shifted to the right and that may be an error in minting.

I snooped around on eBay a bit, and looks like there is a bit of a differences from the S to the D mint marked coins.  I didn't notice any dissimilarity between mine and others of the same mint.  But it is always prudent to investigate your coins.
