Actually The thought of this one being hafted to a bone handle did cross my mind. Read an archaeological journal while back and they were showing a point that had a base that wasnt symmetrical but reason was is cause it was made to fit the bone! Great Not sure though if this is like that. My pics arent great cause it was so bright today and its a glossy reflective material.

After seeing your point left the detector at home and went out hunting for points. Since I started MD I forget to look for points.  Thanks gambol

I use the website below to identify points all the time. This link has a point very similar to the one you found. Very cool find
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Long, slender points with very regular horizontal, parallel-sided flake scars across the surface

Biconvex to flattened cross-section

Stem only slightly narrower than the blade, resulting in narrow or "weak" shoulders

Stem and basal edge straight; edges ground, sometimes heavily

Stringtown variant distinguished by slight basal "ears" or projections

Size: 2½ to 5 inches long

Late Paleoindian:8000-7000BC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
