Even though I find a lot of those old glass bottle stoppers, I always get a kick out of finding one---especially when it is not broken or chipped and even more so if it is an unusual color. Without the bottle, it would probably be pretty difficult to know for sure what type of bottle it went to. (I've found way too many of them for them all to be perfume stoppers
---- besides in most cases, it would have had to be a very BIG bottle of perfume to justify the size of stopper). You really have to stop and think what the affordable alternatives would have been (and cork wasn't necessarily the best and most affordable answer).
