I've seen similar batteries around old telegraph sites. Usually the vandals got to them and they are all broken.

Go Up Go Down

I'm a member of an antique engine club in Arizona and about 20 years ago, at one of the shows, a fella brought an old engine that he found in the desert. It had a bank of glass batteries, 4 to 6 as I recall. He took them home and he cleaned them up and added fresh electrolyte acid and then he rebuilt the engine and batteries were still good for using an old model " T " coil to create spark to run the engine.
  I was blown away.
