Go Up Go Down

We had a one day break in the rain here and I took advantage by going to my favorite beach near Mullaloo in Perth's northern suburbs. In the first photo, you can see the sand is beginning to return to the beach as it is carried ashore in the breaking waves. Gentle breaking waves like these will deposit sand in the early spring after the devastating storms of winter have removed it. Two months ago, when I got there, deep cuts showed me how much erosion had happened but it also allowed me to search for targets that would normally be under 3 or 4 feet of sand. Look closely and you can see the sand being borne by the water to the shoreline.

Yesterday, I walked along the upper beach area which is still used even when the erosion takes away most of the beach sand. Along with $40.00 or so in change including a tiny coin from the Netherlands, I found two items of jewelry.

On the left is an earring ball made of solid .925 silver missing its ear dangling wire thing. On the right is a beautiful heart shaped charm made of sliver. The odd thing is, I found a twin to that heart shaped charm a couple of weeks ago in a tot lot miles from this beach. Both are old and look as if they came from the same bracelet.

It was a good day.

It certaining looks like a lovely beach.

You had some excellent finds.

Did the heart open up on a hinge, or was it one piece.

Cheers,

Mike

The heart is one piece, solid silver. No hinge. It's actually too small for that but really beautiful. The other piece is hollow but quite heavy.

You know, this is about the second finds I've seen you post since you've registered here.  I mean, I never show anything unless it is something interesting.  I have about four earrings, one silver ring, and some old silver dimes.  Still, I could of posted them up.  I don't know too well about posting pictures, honestly.

Anyways, them are some excellent finds.  Pays to be a detectorist!!

P.S: Tired of being a compass? Wanted to change looks? Grin

A change of hats. Yep.

You asked for it. Here is the junk I got from a sand pit playground often referred to here as a Tot Lot.

Wow!! What a assortment of junk you got there!! I have not ever seen such diversity amongst junk.  You will just never know what will come out of the ground 30 to 40% of the time. Grin
