Here is a gold ring i found on vacation in Nags Head, and a small sterling silver ring i found in the lake i live on.

this is also an experiment on getting a pic posted.

Wellllll......., it is a VERY sharp picture (even if it is a bit on the small side)
If I can make a suggestion.......starting from your original image:   First crop in really close to the ring (getting rid of as much of the wood as possible).   THEN reduce the cropped image image until the file is just barely small enough to upload (I generally figure between 700 and 900 pixels on one side as my initial try)

Thanks BA, now i can post all the junk(oops! I mean treasures) i find...i like seeing the pics of all the nails and such...seeing just the good finds makes you feel like you aren't doing so well...i will post what ever i find(the GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY)
