Can anyone ID this button? It is brass, it is flat in front, and same size as a nickel, it was found at a 1750 farm house.Foiled

This isn't going to help much but the front may have been a crimp on face that fell off. I don't believe that was meant to be a flat button on the face. It may have been a cloth covered button with a metal backing.
