I was detecting a creek near an old dam, water was so low you could walk out into the middle, found 53 coins all within the same area, a spot only 3 feet wide. Lots of clad quarters, dimes also a nickle and some pennies. Also, Smiley found loon dollars, sacagawean dollars,  hindu coins, canadian pound coins, 50 cent pieces, boy did I have fun!! Was there a couple hours digging, got chased out by tornado warnings and lightning...heading back tomorrow evening! Wish me luck! Detecting

What a hoot.  Do you think someone dropped them from the Dam?

Thanks everyone, hoping to find more today. The dam is a ways off from the spot I found them, lots of kids visit this place so Im thinking maybe someone stole their parents stash and hid the evidence? Idea

Nice.  Was the find near an eddy or near an obstruction where they could have been washed downstream to?

The coins were in a little dip in the stream, maybe they were gathering for a while, seems wierd with all the foreign coins.

Indeed a bit odd, but your post gives me another good idea about where else I can detect.  Thanks.
