Well , you got lucky. I bet the camera costs a fortune. Check it on the web and maybe put it in ebay or some other online auction... Good luck

@ Hunter.  Actually, not worth as much as I'd hoped, camera and lens are worth about $150 in present condition, but that's $150 I didn't have in my pocket at the start of the day. Crazy

In the future , I suggest you qualify the statement.   That post implied theft and Vandalism to me.

I bet 99 percent of the folks that read it thought so too!

No Apologies from this corner on this one.

Didn't mean to step on anyone's toes, and wasn't asking for an apology.  On the other hand, not going to apologize for defending myself from being publicly called a thief either.  I simply think that, especially as moderators, a little more tact before firing off such a statement might be in order.

Sorry but you presented yourself as one by what you wrote. It's all there. Go read what you wrote.

As moderators, it is our JOB to tell you what you did and why it caused you a problem. You'd be wise to drop the subject, mate. Right now. Next complaint about it will earn you an official warning. Whether you realized it or not, you crossed a line and you got called out on it. Whether you like it or not, our job as moderators IS to police the forums. Deal with it or you won't be very happy here.

By your own suggestion, move on. Continue to cry about it and there may be unpleasant remarks cast your way yet again.

Sorry to see the harsh words here.  There is a lot of ignorance involved with our hobbies that sometimes has to be addressed.  It is good to see that you are not one of the ignorant ones though.  Heck, I have learned a little bit about proper manners from them a few times.

I have a friend in construction that gives me the occasional scoop on spots to hunt before their demolition with owner's approval.  I have only hit one of them thus far but I have high hopes.

I have also been developing old film lately from the fiance's old cannon camera.  My next digital camera is going to have to be capable of using a 35mm lens so that my nice cannon lens does not get lost in storage till it is an official antique.  Perhaps you have one such lens worthy of keeping there.  I would certainly look into that lens if I were you sir.

Best of luck in your future set ups.

Point taken, Homfire, and like I said, no apology necessary.  Hopefully, the longer I'm a member here, the more people will get to know what it is that I do for a living, and there will be fewer misunderstandings.

I don't know about you guys but I really lament the passing of film cameras. It seems like they are vanishing in the blink of an eye. I miss the richness of the medium. I also feel very guilty about embracing the digital world so easily.

That was such a nice camera you found there. Seriously. A mere 10 years ago and you could have gotten more than $1000 for it easily.

The thing is that with the digital camera you have an instant result meaning that if you messed up you can (at most times) take another photo also you are not limited to 36 exposures and the cost is so much lower that it's now much more fun to take photos and more accessible to every one. It did take me a while to get used to this freedom of photography but like you said it was a rich medium.
