Go Up Go Down

Hi Guys  Waveing

Well I did not find this today but I did re find it in my bag of junk yesterday after it having been there for a few months. The question is do you think that it could be gold? I know gold but this ones got me and with out a testing kit on hand I'm lost on this one.

All the best  By the way sorry for the lousy photos. I will try harder next time I promise.
Xavier

Gold for Sure!    Locket, Watch?   No Idea what the Base metal is.   Heavy Gold Plate or Filled.

Any way to get a photo of the Transition between Metals?

Well there is a hard brittle substance on part of the inside. I know that I've seen this stuff somewhere but I just don't seem to be able to remember where. I will try and take a better photo with the inside part. Ha I think that I remember it was on a locket that had a stone mounted on the front of it. OK will take that photo

Well a locket it is then the broken part would have been where the hinge was.

OK! Some one is going to dispute this butt I think it is Heavy Gold Fill on Silver.

See the Blue?

Silver turns blue to Colbolt when Sulfided.

Yes I do see it. The inside has small scratches on it yet all I did was to clean it with a tooth brush to get the dirt out of it under running water. I guess that this locket must be pretty old?

Any marks left on the inside?   You didn't photo the Inside.

That is the inside mate but I can take another photo of the outside if you like and by the way  have found no stamp whatsoever on it.

OK here is another photo of the front. It looks as though it is worn and silver if you look at the right hand side yet if I look at it with the magnifying glass this is not there so could be an effect from the light.
