Ok, PGill and Xavier, Its all your fault! Angry I went out yesterday thinking I was going to find neat stuff like yours and all I found was 11 cents and a baby food jar lid. I walked the entire length of Clearwater south beach (a mile) and found one dime, one penny and a lid to a babyfood jar!!!!!!! Detecting There were at least a thousand people on the beach watching me. They kept coming up to me and asking 'what'd you find? What'd you find?" I could only shrug and show them the dime and penny and of course they went away with a smirk.  Sad It was soooo humiliating I wasn't even getting any hits on trash. Not a single bottle cap or pop top not to mention fishing sinkers which the sand is full of. I finally got to the point where I was faking it....digging holes where there were no targets just so the thousand people on the beach wouldn't say 'oooo look there! poor guy he isn't even getting any hits on trash! No no! Anyway after that,  I finally made my decision and ordered the Testero Sand Shark.... [great]Now all I've got to do is hide it from the Wife Club until Christmas! Gambol Grin

Very nice gold find, Xavier! In the photo titled Gold4.jpg, there is a repeated pattern in the flat portion (3 dots with fine vertical lines, underscored by what seems to be an arabic character-inspired line, curved at one end). I've seen that somewhere before but i can't remember where. I keep thinking "moorish design", but can't place it. Ethopian goldwork with Arab influence? A momento lost by an Arab slaver/trader? Moroccan jewellery? Whatever its origins, it's very pretty.

Homie, I have put X's gold in the post for you, don't want to work underground again  No no!

Gambol, I think the problem you are having on that beach is that you forgot to switch that detector on  Idiot or you forgot to put the battery in  Idea when you have to bluff that you are finding, that is sad  Cry I keep telling X to also stop the bluffing.... I think he plants the finds and then looks surprised when he finds them  Shocked of course, I just play along as I do not want to hurt his feelings  Wink that is what good friends do  Kiss

Hobbyist, I think he bought it from the indian market  No no! sad, very sad....

OK guys firstly I must thank all of you for the response and I will check out that photo Gold4.jpg I have warned Peter that he would not get that charger but he insists on harassing me so I ask you what should I do here are a few options 1) I make a charger with a fly-back transformer and blow the crap out of his detector (he deserves that)  2) I don't make a charger at all (he deserves that too) or 3) I make a charger that tells him that the battery is full when it's has been charged/discharged to 10.5V and there is another option but it's to violent to describe (I have young wild bulls who love to play)
