Go Up Go Down

Down in the back yard we have a small creek so I've never ran the detector on it so yesterday I thought I'd give it a try. Only got a penny and lots of trash... nails, wires, etc.
However a couple of interesting finds. One looks to be an old transformer - it was really heavy too! The other one I can't really figure out. I thought at first it was the top to a chain link fence. Something like that - but it has a spring on that piece of metal going through the one end. Any ideas what this could be?

Your round peace was hinged with a spring to keep it closed.  Could be a Oil cap or Bearing oil cover ?

I don't know anything about your relics.  I think Homie is right about it.  I agree with Mick...  you do have a piece of paradise in your back yard!  Thanks for sharing.
