Go Up Go Down

Took the daughter out for the first time today. We went to a local park and tried our luck in the tot lots. Considering that the area is hunted hard she did very well. She used the old Heathkit and dug everything. She must have found a half pound of wire, pulltabs, and foil, but she found two clad dimes and a penny.  Clapp I think she's hooked. Now I have to find a new detector.
Oh well gives me an excuse to upgrade Grin

The Tesoro Compadre is both powerful and light weight. Just perfect for a granddaughter. And a great backup machine for you.

She did well, and GD gave good advise even if he has the wrong generation (although there's no reason why the Compadre wouldn't still be a good choice when your daughter has a daughter  Smiley )

Congratulations on your daughter's first finds.  When my grandkids were little, even the wire junk, washers nails, etc. were all treasures to them.  And they insisted on keeping everything! I think sometimes that might have irritated Mom and Dad, but Hey!...  treasure is treasure!

Not to worry GD. My daughter is 32, grown and married. Sadly childless but who knows? She is still the light of my life. Thanks for the advise.

Daughters are special.

The suggestion for her to try a Compadre still stands. It's the most powerful entry level machine I can think of. You can get them for under $100 used if you look around or brand new for around $150.00. The machine is a "turn on and go" machine.

Okay, I got the wrong generation, too!   Embarrassed  No no! Maybe your grown daughter wasn't as thrilled with all the junk as my young grandkids were.  But at least maybe you got her hooked on detecting now.  Like you said, a great excuse to upgrade your detector! Grin Grin
