Go Up Go Down

Got out to enjoy the day and do some hunting yesterday.  Had a great time with a KILLER clad to keeper ratio.  I only dug 18 coins but they consisted of 8 memorials and 1 clad dime, 6 wheats and 3 silvers.  I also found a cheap ring size 6 and one of the neatest dog tags I've run across.  The first silver was a DEEP 1925 SLQ followed by 2 1951 rosies.  I dug my fair share of trash as well but I'll gladly dig the trash to get coins like these.

I've never seen a dog tag quite like this one.  It is dated 1929 and on one side it says "DOG REGISTRY" 26877 while on the other side it says "C.D.T. CHICAGO".  I am assuming that it is tied specifically to the city of Chicago but haven't found any information yet.  If anyone knows anything about it please let me know.

Here's the video and the pics.  Thanks for watching and HH!

Thanks for the comment.  I thought the dog tag was very cool as well.  Never seen one quite like that before.

From the land of the Bluenose...indeed a good ratio.  Silver coins in Canada seem to be rarer every year.  Continued good hunting.

Neither shows your tag, but both could be good sources of information.  I do know that some of the old tags bring a pretty nice chunk of change from the right collector.

Great finds Stringfrenzy... Looks like you cleaned your coins.  What do you clean them with?

I sure would like to dig some silver coins. Until then, I guess I'll be happy digging 1930s beer cans!
