Has anyone ever tried detecting in a bottle dump? I'm thinking about it. Seems to me like their should be interesting articles besides bottles in there. Any suggestions? Or just stay away.

most of the dumps I've been to have lots of stuff besides bottles in them, and a whole lot of it is metal, including the cans, mattress springs, etc.  Lot's of the stuff is interesting (and some of it is pretty valuable), but I'd recommend screening rather than detecting.
