interesting find! Could still be quite old, there was a lot of ancient tour kind of intrest in the early-mid 20th century

Siny, great find, but it is probably not too old.  In 1973, or that general time period, a law went into effect that any "tribute" or copy of valuable or ancient coins had to have the word "copy" on them.  Sorry to be the bearer of sad tidings, but enjoy it for what it is anyway!                  Detecting

Turned out to be a copy of a Spanish Reale , which are sold in souvenir shops in Florida......but I'll have to grin when I tell someone I found a Spanish Reale in NYC Grin

Still a cool find.   Spanish Pillar Dollars are being found around Ocean City NJ.

Yep!  I know a Girl that has found more then a Few.   Last count was four or five.  No one has a Idea where they came from.   Others have found them too.

there is evidence that the spanish settled here in north america very early, in some cases possibly pre columbian.... I know someone who found a battle axe? near a possible viking or spanish site in ontario... his good friend is the ancient weapon specialist for the university of toronto and had no idea what it was... it has a swastika on the one side (not only used by nazis but also by ancients), I will post a fourm for it asap
